  • Black History Month

Every February, we celebrate Black History Month to remeber the extraordinary accomplishments thaty African-Americans have made. Historically Black Colleges and Universities, also known as HBCUs are an important part of this legacy. We honor their achievements when we study black history and acknowledge the role that each scholar played in shaping identities as African-Americans.

The oldest in the South is Raleigh's Shaw University. Make sure you check out the glass cases on both sides of the tunnel to learn about other HBCUs like NC A&T, Winston- Salem, Hampton, etc.
