What We Offer:

Students are taught by teams of core teachers who plan together.  Core teachers include English Language Art, Social Studies, Science, and Mathematics.  In addition to the North Carolina Standard Course of Study, we offer a variety of electives including Band, Chorus, Life Skills, Vocational Technology, Business and Marketing, Art, PE, and Health. The physical education elective includes weight training and skill-based sports.  Services are available to ESL students and students with special needs. Also, we have implemented academic remediation and enrichment programs for students who require extra academic support or academic challenges in critical thinking.

Technology:
Computers are used primarily to maximize student engagement; to strengthen reading, writing and math skills; to conduct research; and to reinforce and enhance the overall curriculum. Teachers use laptop computers to present lessons, to manage data, and to increase communication through email, classroom websites, and blogs.  Students utilize laptop and desktop computers as vital tools to help them learn and to create products that demonstrate their learning.

Computers in the media center are dedicated to reference, research and multimedia.

Supervised Internet access is available.

Principal's Quote:
Greg Hook
“There are many parts to achieving success at the school level. As a staff, we are committed to collaboration and professional dialogue, to foster a safe and professional atmosphere. We want and encourage our teachers to express ideas and try innovative practices in the classroom. We believe that technology should be a daily part of our students' lives and should be used to differentiate and strengthen our instruction. Finally I strongly believe in making real connections with our students and staff. Building strong relationships with both students and staff members is the backbone of retaining teachers and reaching all students. Our students know that we care about them, and I believe that will lead us to great heights both academically and in the development of each our students individually.”

- Greg Hook, Principal
